Sony Music recording artist and Davido Music Worldwide boss, David Adeleke who is popularly known as Davido seem to have silently postponed the release of his incoming album "A Better Time".
The multi-award-winning afrobeat singer, Davido had earlier launched the pre-order for his highly anticipated third studio album tagged "A Better Time:". The album as revealed by the singer is a 17-track body of work featuring American female lyricist, Nicki Minaj, his label mate, and Nigeria's youngster, Mayorkun, Tiwa Savage, Mugeez, and others.
Davido who revealed the album was exclusively produced by his producer friend, Speroach Beatz is yet to unveil the tracklist to this album. October 30, 2020 was to be the release date, we are made to believe the singer will soon announce the postponement of the release of his "A Better Time" album.
This fire album is a follow up of his sophomore LP album "A Good Time" released in 2019. The album which bagged a billion streams across all streaming platforms this year featured some international singers like Chris Brown, Popcaan, Summer Walker, Gunna, and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. The album was Davido’s major record deal debut and it gave his career another phase as it granted him access to the international market on a larger scale.
Here is everything we know about Davido’s “A Better Time” album
Even without an official tracklist for by “A BETTER TIME” album by Davido, we have gathered that Nicki Minaj is not the only international artist featured in this album. Chance The Rapper has been confirmed according to Davido’s chat with The Guardian to be on this album. So far, FEM is the only single that has been released off this album. This only confirms that there could be more than two international acts in the 17-track album.
With six days to go and the official tracklist still not made public, we strongly believe Davido’s “A Better Time” album has been rescheduled. The singer’s decision not to release the album on October 30, 2020, as scheduled must have been pioneered by the recent #ENDSARS protests. Davido played a major role in his meetings with the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, and the Speaker House Of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila. He met with them to share the 5 demands the Nigerian youths had while protesting for the disbandment of the corrupt Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigerian Police Force.
So for now, we can’t categorically say when Davido’s “A BETTER TIME” album will be released but we are certain the album won’t be released on October 30, 2020.
