2021 was another great year for Nigerian music, and there were great releases from the well-cemented stars that have achieved it all over the world. Stars like Tiwa Savage, Teni, Joeboy all dropped projects as well as Ayra Starr, Ruger, Oxlade, etc.
This year, Afrobeat continues in the spotlight of the world while reforming its status to the highest rhythm, and most people around the world are excited about it.
Some artists announced that they will be dropping an album last year but failed to do so.
1. Fiokee - MAN (14/1/22)
Nigerian guitarist and recording artist, Ifiok Effanga who is otherwise known as Fiokee is one of Nigeria's famous instrumentalists. He took to his page on Instagram to announce the release of his debut album MAN scheduled for release on 14/1/22. The 14-tracks album would feature T Classic, Masterkraft, Bella Shmurda, Yemi Alade, Chike, Gyakie, Guchi, Kelvyn Boy, Ric Hassani, Peruzzi, The Cavemen, Vector, Ada Ehi, Umu Obiligbo, and others.
2. Chike - Brother's Keeper (28/1/22)
Chike's sophomore album 'The Brother's Keeper' is set to drop on 28th January 2022. The tracklist is yet to be revealed.
3. Adekunle Gold - TBA (22/2/22)
According to Adekunle Gold, his next album is dropping this year. He revealed this in a recent interview with Fuse.
4. Wizkid - More Love Less Ego (TBA)
Wizkid said his next album will be titled "More Love Less Ego" and the album will be dropping after his tour sometime this year. He made this known while giving his acceptance speech after winning African Artist of the year at MTV EMA 2021.
5. Rema - Raves & Roses (TBA)
Rema has been talking about his debut album 'Raves & Roses' for a while. Though he is yet to reveal the release date, we expect it to drop this year.
6. Omah Lay - Boy Alone (TBA)
Omah Lay has been talking about his debut album 'Boy Alone' for a while. Though he is yet to reveal the release date, we expect it to drop this year.
