EP REVIEW: Yemi Aalade - "Queendoncom"

Effyzzie Music Group star, Yemi Aalade presents a new body of work tagged 'Queendoncom".

The Nigerian singer and songwriter, Yemi Eberechi Alade is inarguably one of Nigeria's biggest female musicians. Yemi Alade is widely known for her signature dancehall tunes drops a new project a year after her last album tagged Empress.

The beautiful project titled Queendoncom was released on August 13, 2021. It is a solo-performed extended play of 7-songs.

• The first track Ogogoro is one of the singles on this project. It is a danceable tune produced by Ernest Itiveh Ogaga for Effyzie Music Group.

• Sweety is the second song on this project produced by Ernest Itiveh Ogaga. It is a groovy melody. It is a love song that got Yemi Alade voicing her love for her baby.

• Here is a mid-tempo dancehall tune by Yemi Alade tagged Ike. It is a street vibe with relatable lyrics.

• The hook, 'Enjoyment no be for small pikin' is the most interesting part of this song. Enjoyment is another single on the Queendoncom EP.

• Looking for a groovy tune that is danceable? Here is one. Dada is one of my favourites jams on this extended play by Yemi Alade. The groove is spectacular. The bass guitar is so spiritual not to mention the beautiful drums.

• Yemi Alade drops a funky afroswing tune titled Ella. The song is co-written by Ernest Itiveh Ogaga and Yemi Eberechi Alade.

• The last song Fire is indeed fire. It is a groovy tune by the Nigerian afrobeat empress.
