2021 has given us new stars like Ruger, Ayra Starr, Buju, Lojay, etc. It has also exposed us to a lot of new sounds from other new and established artists.
Ruger and Buju are different artists with no so much in common. While Ruger seems to have cracked the Nigerian market as well as other markets in Africa in his first year, Buju was not that lucky despite being signed to Burna Boy's Spaceship Entertainment. Their vocals, melodies, and music genres are also not the same.
Without downplaying their gifts, help us ascertain who is more talented between these two.
Newly discovered Nigerian singer and songwriter Michael Adebayo is professionally known as Ruger received a warm welcome following his deal with Jonzing World. He just recently dropped a new song titled Ruger. The new song is receiving a mixed reaction from the audience but the singer is obviously not done as he just announced his debut extended play is to be released on March 12, 2021.
To many, the singer will soon join his colleague and label mate, Rema to lift the Headies plaque for Next Rated after seeing a snippet of his sounds on his freestyle videos on Instagram. Many believe the youngster only dropped the self-titled song to wet the soil before unleashing the hit songs he has on him.
Though formally signed to Burna Boy's Onespaceship, Buju didn't get the exposure he is enjoying now since after he left the record label to launch his own outfit called 'To Your Ears Entertainment'. The singer who joined Burna Boy's record label a few months ago confirmed this by dropping a new single 'Outside' under his own imprint days after teaming up with Ladipoe to serve us Feeling.
Buju is currently the most talked about new act in the Nigerian music space.
