ALBUM REVIEW: Show Dem Camp - "Clone Wars Vo. 5 - The Algorhythm"

Nigerian rap duo, Wale Davies and Olumide Ayeni who is also known as Tec and Ghost respectively and collectively known as Show Dem Camp or SDC drops a brand new mixtape tagged "Clone Wars Vo. 5 - The Algorhythm"

Show Dem Camp is a rap duo who lived in cities in Europe and the US before returning to Lagos to pursue a career in music. They have been in the game for a while and are widely known for popularizing palm wine music in Nigeria. The music duo is one of the few groups who are still together after teaming up over a decade ago.

They teamed with Ladipoe, Tomi Thomas, Shalom Dubas, Reminisce, Mojo, Jesse Jagz, Ogranya, Alpha Ojini and Tomi Owo for their 15-tracks "Clone Wars Vo. 5 - The Algorhythm" album.

• The first track Intro is calm, inviting, and captivating. It's more like poetry that encapsulates the reality of being a Nigerian.

• YKTV that translates to You Know The Fucking Vibe is a beautiful tune from this duo. Show Dem Camp attempts to offer a free lesson to refresh our memory as to what hip hop was in the 90s.

• In Align, Show Dem Camp teams up with Ladipoe to share a groovy tune that talks about living in accordance with our divine mission.

• Tomi Thomas joins Show Dem Camp in this romantic melody tagged Rise of the underdogs 2. The jam is simply groovy.

• The next track comes in with this calm yet irregular instrumental accompanied by SDC's thick vocals that make it even more captivating. Draw Me Close featured Shalom Dubas.

• To buttress the importance of focus, Show Dem Camp drops a street-friendly pop jam tagged Focus and Drive.

• Big Liko is a funny skit that is performed in English and Yoruba.

• Reminisce, Mojo hops in to assist Show Dem Camp to render a hard jam on this beautiful hip hop instrumental called Tycoon.

• Big Dream is another skit. It sounds more like an ad or one suitable for a movie intro.

• SDC redefines the standard and tries to set a New Norm in this slow-paced melodic tune.

• Here is another SDC and Tomi Thomas collaboration. It's called Vipers and got extra assistance from veteran Nigerian rapper, Jesse Jagz.

• In Ghost Rant, SDC lets the instrumental roll while they attack it with real words and rhythmic lines.
