Top Five (5) Yoruba Indigenous Rappers 2021

Nigerian hip hop game has grown over time. Hip Hop arrived in Nigeria in the '80s and has been faced with huge competition from other genres as they all fight for the top spot.

Native rap or indigenous rap arguable came into Nigerian music just when English rappers couldn't dominate the game as consumers were after a sound that is relatable and record labels looking for something commercial to guarantee profit.

The likes of Nigga Raw, Dagrin, MC Loph, etc were able to penetrate the music market with rap songs performed in their local dialect.

Today, Indigenous rappers remain the highest-earning rappers in the Nigerian music ecosystem.
