Between Wizkid, Davido & Burna Boy, Vote Your Artist Of The Decade

Yesterday, Mavin records boss, Michael Collins who is best known as Don Jazzy declared Wizkid is 'African Artiste of the Decade'. The popular Nigerian music executive, Don Jazzy shared his thoughts via a comment on a post on Instagram where popular Odesope Olajide asked the public to nominate their African Artist of the decade if Billboard was to give such an award.

This spiked an argument on Twitter with a few users disagreeing with Don Jazzy and picking other artists ahead of Wizkid. Just like always, we believe Waploaded readers are should have a say in this which is why we brought this home.

Starboy Entertainment boss, Wizkid has now spent over a decade of active years in the game. He came into the limelight in 2009 following the release of his single Holla at your boy after penning down a record deal with Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E).

In 2011, Wizkid released his debut album Superstar. The album featured singles like Tease Me Bad Guys , Don't Dull, Pakurumo and others. Fast forward to 2021, Wizkid is now one of the biggest afrobeat artists. He has worked with so many international stars and produced so many international hit songs.

Wizkid has played a huge role in the growth of African pop culture in the last decade. His collaborations with Drake, Beyonce following his deal with RCA is still something to celebrate not forgetting he sold out shows in London and the rest of the world.

Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and record producer, David Adedeji Adeleke, who is popularly known as Davido recently celebrated his 10th-year anniversary in the music industry.

The 28-year old Nigerian pop singer, Davido stormed the rose to fame after releasing "Dami Duro", the second single from his debut studio album Omo Babalowo. He has also featured so many international artists including Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Lil Baby, etc.

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Damini 'Burna Boy' Ogulu is another huge name in the African music space.

The Port-Harcourt singer and songwriter, Burna Boy is one of the hottest and most successful artists in Nigeria. He became a force in the game in 2012 following the release of singles like Tonight, Always Love You, Like to Party, Run My Race, and Yawa Dey off his debut album L.I.F.E released on August 12, 2014. The album was exclusively produced by Leriq and featured big names like 2Baba, M.I, Olamide, Wizkid, Timaya, and Reminisce. Burna Boy's debut album L..I.F.E peaked at number 7 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart back in 2013 prior to his major deal with Atlantic Records and the Warner Music Group in 2017.

He also recently won the Best Global Album award at the 63rd Grammy's making him the first Nigerian to win the award.
