Warner Bros. Announces Two New Superman Movies With Henry Cavill
Warner Bros. is working on two new Superman movies starring Henry Cavill as he reprises his role against a surprising villain.
After years of debate over whether Henry Cavill will return to play Superman in the DC Extended Universe, Warner Bros. has announced two brand new solo movies with the actor reprising his role. It’s not clear if they’ll be direct sequel’s to Zack Snyder’s Justice League, but it sounds as if the studio is considering using one of the Man of Steel’s strangest villains in at least one of the newly announced movies.
It’s believed that these Superman movies are separate to the upcoming reboot from J.J. Abrams and Ta-Nehisi Coates, with Warner Bros. bringing an entirely new creative onboard for the new Henry Cavill project. The plan is to shoot both films back to back, but the studio is reportedly trying to introduce Mr. Mxyzptlk into the DCEU by revamping him as a gritty villain rather than an interdimensional prankster. Danny DeVito is being eyed for the role, according to sources at April Fool’s News.
