Rema VS Fireboy DML, Who Is Nigeria's Prince Of Afrobeat?

Few years after being introduced into the music space, Rema and Fireboy DML are still grinding. The duo alongside others are considered the leaders of tomorrow as far as Afrobeat is concerned.

For the now, Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido are leading the game as afrobeat continues to push for global dominance.

Sometime in 2019, Divine Ikubor popularly known as Rema was announced as the first act to join D'Prince as Mavin records' imprint Jonzing World.

Mavin records introduced the new talent to Nigerians after D'Prince saw a clip of the freestyle cover of his song Gucci Gang. The Benin-born Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter, Divine Ikubor aka Rema joined Mavin records following the departure of Reekado Banks in 2018.

On joining Mavin records, Rema has been referred to as the future of Afrobeats by many.

The singer released hit tracks like Dumebi , Iron Man, Bad Commando, Why, etc, and three projects Rema Freestyle, Bad Commando, and Rema Remix in 2019. He became the first Nigerian artist to release three projects in one year.

On the other hand, Nigerian singer-songwriter, Adedamola Adefolahan popularly known as Fireboy DML has nothing to prove again.

The Nigerian singer, songwriter, and recording artist who recently dished out his sophomore studio album tagged "Apollo" is surely one of the very few talented Nigerian artistes who has shown the potential required to dominate.

The YBNL act, Fireboy DML discovered by Olamide in 2018 has successfully made his style of music a reputable brand in the Nigerian music space. His debut album released in 2019 'Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps' gave him all the exposure he needed to attract interest from Empire Music.

Today, Fireboy DML and Rema are household names in Nigeria and its environs. It's therefore inarguable that these two are the hottest young kids in the Nigerian music scene.

Despite taking different routes, these two are pushing to see Afrobeat dominate the world.

Without much ado, please suggest, who do you consider Nigeria's afrobeat prince between Rema and Fireboy DML?
