Teniola Apata and Niniola Apata have been in the game for as long as we can remember. They have actively given us some hit songs over time.
The Nigerian female singers who share the same parents are one of the big names in the Nigerian music industry. While Teni majors in afrobeat and afro-fusion, Niniola majors in afro-house and dancehall.
These two are yet to collaborate together even though they have both agreed working together is not far-fetched.
Teni born in December 1992 is Niniola's younger sister. She is an American Intercontinental University alumni. The Business Administration graduate attended her secondary school at Apata Memorial High School same as her sister Niniola. The military-style private school was founded by their father Brigadier-General S.0. Apata (Ltd) in 1980. Teni was discovered by Shizzi who signed her to his Magic Fingers Records under which she released her debut single titled 'Amen'. This was before joining her current record label, Dr Dolor Entertainment in 2017. Teni launched a new phase of her career under Dr Dolor and gained prominence with her single "Fargin' released in September 2017.
So far, Teni has dropped two amazing projects. The Billionaire and Quarantine Playlist EP released in 2019 and 2020 respectively. She currently has an endorsement deal with TomTom.
Niniola Apata who is professionally known as Niniola is the older sister to Teni. She came into the Nigerian music scene in 2013 with her participation in the sixth edition of Project Fame West Africa 2013.
She attended the University of Lagos where she earned a bachelor of education certificate. Niniola released her first single Ibadi in 2014. The song was produced by Sarz. The award-winning singer who was nominated as the Most Promising Act to Watch category at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards in 2015 has grown to be a BET awards nominee and have been endorsed by the likes of Drake and Timbaland the American producer who produced most songs in her sophomore album Colours and Sounds Album.
Niniola who describes her style of music as Afro-house joined Beyonce's soundtrack album The Lion King: The Gift with her song Maradona which was sampled in Find Your Way Back song. With that, she is currently a Grammy Nominee.
