How Mavin Records Discovers New Talents [A MUST READ]

Popular Nigerian music producer Donjazzy launched his own record label in 2012. He went to launch his own record label after ending his partnership deal with D'Banj and dissolving their Mohits Records record label. D Banj went on to launch his own imprint, DB Records, and Donjazzy went on to build what we now know as Mavin records formally called the Supreme Mavin Dynasty.

Michael Collins Ajereh popularly known as Donjazzy has now grown from a music producer to a record label founder and executive. His record label, Mavin Records, or Mavin Music Records, is the first to have two imprints Jonzing World and Blow Time Entertainment.

In less than ten years, Donjazzy has signed more than ten artists to Mavin records. In 2014, Donjazzy signed three artists Di'Ja, Korede Bello, and Reekado Banks. He also added three artists to the record label in 2017; Johhny Drille, Ladipoe, and DNA. In 2019, Mavin launched two imprints, Jonzing World and Blow Time Entertainment signing Rema and Crayon to those subsidiaries respectively.

Early this year, Donjazzy announced adding a new artist, Ayra Starr to his record label. In recent interviews, Donjazzy explained he has an academy of artists and have already discovered so many artists he is still grooming and getting ready to sell to us. After studying how Mavin operates and listening to a wide range of Donjazzy's interviews, we have detected three major ways Mavin records discover a new artists.

Donjazzy has always explained why it is important up-and-coming artists put up their songs on their social media platforms or best their freestyles. Most of his newly signed artists including Rema were discovered through freestyles. Most people tagging Donjazzy to their freestyles or covers might not be lucky to have him see them. Thus I'll advise you to tag every other guy working with Mavin. They are more likely to see your materials and maybe show them to Donjazzy.

Mavin records have a team of guys who are steadily scouting for artists, signing them, and helping them grow. These guys are called A/R. These A/R guys are very much online. Tag them to your materials and you might just be lucky.
