The Nigerian music scene has been operating the record label system for a while where most if not all the popular artists rose to fame after signing a deal with a record label. The record label system has been used to discover a few talents and also helped so many blown artists regain their lost fame. There has been an argument over which record label is the biggest record label in Nigeria.

Now lets's take a look at these two record labels, Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) and Mavin records.

After breaking the partnership deal they had Donjazzy and D’Banj, they both went separate ways and dissolved their Mohits Records record label. D Banj launched his career under his own imprint, DB Records, and Donjazzy went on to build what we now know as Mavin records formally called the Supreme Mavin Dynasty.

Michael Collins Ajereh popularly known as Donjazzy has now grown from a music producer to a record label founder and executive. His record label, Mavin Records, or Mavin Music Records, is the first to have two imprints Jonzing World and Blow Time Entertainment. Jazzy who claims his record label is Africa's leading music label has now grown the company to close to 50 employees with over 15 active creatives directly signed to the label and over a dozen more under 'his academy'..

After serving his time under his brother's record label named HKN, Davido parted ways with the label. He joined Sony Music in 2016 just before launching his own record label the same year.

In five years, the record label has signed plenty of other artists with one imprint Obama Music Worldwide.
