Five Nigerian Artistes That Would Be Dropping An Album In 2021

2021 is here and the songs are already dropping. We have done a little research to dig up five Nigerian artists who have either promised us an album this year or are due for one.

The Nigerian music industry is definitely going to be less flooded with music this year as a better number of the superstars dropped their projects last year. Top stars like Wizkid, Burna Boy, Olamide, Fireboy DML, Tekno, Adekunle Gold, Tiwa Savage, Timaya, Yemi Alade, Flavour, DJ Spinall, DJ Cuppy, etc all dropped albums last year.

With this, most of them will prefer to promote some of the tracks on the album, release music videos to these songs and drop a few new singles this year to dropping a new album. Even though many up-and-coming artists will (by the above premise) have an opportunity to shine, here are five Nigerian stars that should be dropping an album this year.

Mavin records act, Divine Ikubor alias Rema took to his Twitter handle on January 4, 2021, to hint at a possible release of an album this year. The singer and rapper who dished out three extended plays in 2019 is getting ready for his debut album in 2021.

2. Peruzzi

Tobechukwu Victor Okoh popularly known as Peruzzi could just be dropping the Rum and Boogie album in 2021. The DMW singer had earlier shared the album cover and tracklist last year but ended up not releasing the album. We are meant to believe a Peruzzi album will surface this year.

3. Omah Lay

Omah Stanley Dibia aka Omah Lay in his recent chat with Max FM revealed his debut album will be released in 2021. When asked what his plans were for 2021, Omah Lay said he'll definitely be dropping an album this year.

4. Naira Marley

The Marlian music boss is inarguably due for an album. The last time we got a project from Naira Marley was in 2019 when he released Lord of Lamba. Hopefully, we will get an album from Naira Marley this year.

5. Simi

After giving us a powerful extended play last year titled, Restless II, It is only right to expect an album from the Studio Brat boss this year. Simi could just among the superstars dishing out an album in 2021.

Others could include Mayorkun, Johnny Drille, etc.
