Top 10 Artistes in Nigeria 2020 is an analytical list of Nigerian artistes whose works have been phenomenal in 2020. The COVID-19 and #ENDSARS situations in Nigeria made this year somewhat difficult for entertainers most especially musicians whose major stream of income comes from concerts, gigs, and shows.

10. Mayorkun

DMW recording artist, Mayorkun has had an awesome year in 2020. From "Geng" to "Of Lagos", the young Nigerian without a body of work has been able to retain an enviable spot in charts across the country. His latest single with Davido titled "Betty Butter" racked up amazing numbers as well as his collaborative single with Jamopyper of Zanku records tagged "If No Be You". 

9. Kizz Daniel

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, better known as Kizz Daniel follow next after dishing out his solo performed album "King of Love". The 17-track album accompanied by three singles 'Jaho’, ‘Fvck You’ and ‘Pak n Go’ was released on June 25, 2020. "King of Love" gave Kizz Daniel hit songs like "Ada", and "Boyz are Bad" as the young Nigerian celebrates his fifth active year in music.

Mavin records megastar, Divine Ikubor popularly known as Rema has equally had an impactful year in 2020. Rema became an international brand when his sinh  "Iron Man",  appeared on Barack Obama's 2019 summer playlist. In 2020, Rema's new release, "Ginger Me" and "Woman" gave him some banging rights of having a successful 2020. Sometime in 2020, Fifa released the official tracklist for FIFA 2021 where Rema’s ‘Beamer’ was featured to entertain game lovers in the VOLTA (street soccer) mode of the game.

Famous Nigerian singer, songwriter, record producer, Stanley Omah Didia professionally known as Omah Lay came into limelight in the first half of 2020 when his singles "You" and "Bad Influence" was released. The KeyQaad recording artist later premiered his debut project "Get Layd"  on the 22nd of May, 2020. The extended play went on to become the most-streamed Afrobeat album on Digital stores like Apple music. Audiomack and Deezer.

6. Tiwa Savage

Universal Music and Motown recording artiste, Tiwa Savage appears to be the only lady on this list. She recently dished out her fourth studio album on the 27th o August 2020. The album tagged "Celia" was named after her mother whom she spent most of her childhood days with her in London. The 13-tracks album produced four singles; "Dangerous Love", "Attention", "Koroba", and "Temptation".

5. Fireboy DML

Adedemola Adefolahan popularly known as Fireboy DML is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He rose to prominence with his single "Jealous" off his critically acclaimed debut album "Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps". Fireboy DML having launched his musical career in 2012 cemented his 2019 breakthrough with a magnificent sophomore album "Apollo" released under Empire. The award-winning singer earned a spot in FIFA 21 official playlist with his song "Scatter" off his LTG album.

Hip pop legend and the leader of Yoruba indigenous rap, Olamide Adedeji mostly known as Olamide is one of the great brands in the Nigerian music industry. Just in 2020, the rapper has dished out two awesome projects ; "999" and "Carpe Diem". These two body of works has so far given the rap artist another phase in his career. Olamide also bagged an endorsement deal with telecommunication company, iTel in 2020.

3. Davido

After bagging a billion streams on his second studio album "A Good Time", Davido is inarguably one of the biggest artistes in Africa. The singer who has been silent for a while as he's presumably working on his third studio album "A Better Time" stormed the industry with the release of his first single of the year tagged "FEM". The single released on the 9th of September 2020 was the most streamed song across all streaming platforms in the country including being on top of the Hot 100 chart on Apple music for days. Despite the delay in releasing his incoming album, Davido has been one of the most talked about artist in the Nigerian music scene in 2020.

2. Wizkid

Starboy Entertainment boss, Wizkid took the bull by its horn when he dished out his highly anticipated album "Made in Lagos". The 14-track accompanied by two singles featured artistes like Burna Boy, Ella Mai, Skepta, H.E.R, Damian Marley amongst others. Still in 2020, Wizkid signed a new partnership deal with sports clothing brand PUMA as the young Nigerian pushes to release new merch for his "Made in Lagos" album.

You can argue this, but based on our statistics, Burna Boy is the leading Nigerian artist in 2020. The young Nigerian singer and songwiter linked up with American music excutive, Diddy in his fifth studio album "Twice as Tall" . The album which had Diddy as the exectuve producer racked up outrageous numbers on streaming platforms. Songs like "Monsters You Made", "Way To Big" and "23" could be considered hit tacks. Burna Boy is in no doubt the hottest Nigerian artiste so far in 2020 when we put everything into consideration.
