Nigerian music industry is getting stiffer by the day making it easy for some talents to go unnoticed, undervalued and underrated. Here is a comprehensive list of 15 underrated artistes in Nigeria in 2020.

These are artistes we believe have not lived up to the talents they posses. We all know not all talented stars are buzzing as the media seems to focus on a selected few. This is the 15 underrated artistes in Nigeria whose recent works has not gotten the attention it deserves.

15. Yovi

Nigerian singer, songwriter and music producer, Yovi makes this list as one of the most underrated artistes in Nigeria in 2020. Agu Uchenna who is mostly known as Yovi has been in the music scene for a while. He came into limelight in 2017 after the release of his single "Amen" . He later worked with Mayorkun and Lil Kesh in "Amen Remix". Despite recording a hit track and having singles with Wizkid and Harrysong, Yovi remains underrated in Nigeria's music scene.

14. DNA

Mavin records duo, Clint and Blair Roberts mostly known as DNA is a Nigerian music duo. The twins got discovered by Mavin records boss, DonJazzy who later signed them to his record label back in 2017.

13. Ric Hassani

Ikechukwu "Ric Hassani" Ahiazu is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and music composer. He majors in alternative, soul music and R&B. Ric Hassani is one of those acts whose sounds are irregular to a wider population of Nigerians. The port-harcourt born singer dishd out his debut album "The African Gentleman" in 2016.

12. Soft

Collins "Soft" Uche is one of the Nigerian singers and dancer whose music is underrated in Nigeria. He rose to fame in 2018 with the release of his single "Tatoo" and the remix featuring Davido. He came back with "Imagine" and "Money" in 2018. These two singles became a bang. He later tteamed up with Wizkid in 2019 for "Money Remix".

11. T-Classic

Tolulope Ajayi otherwise known as T-Classic is a Nigerian recording artist signed to Mix Naija Entertainment. He rose to fame with "Fall in Love" in 2018 featuring Mayorkun after dishing out "I Want You" and "Isabella" in 2017. His debut project, "Underrated EP" remains one of the most underrated body of work released in Nigeria this year.

10. Efe

After winning the 2017 edition of Big Brother Naija, Nigerian singer, rapper and reality TV star, Efe has been hugely undervalued by the Nigerian music lovers. His single "Warri" with Olamide earned him some air plays but subsequent materials has just been unable to penetrate the Nigerian music scene. Efe released his third project "Nonstop" in 2020 and has found it difficult to chart with the amazing songs he has on the project.

9. Goodgirl LA

Nigerian singer and music composer, Goodgirl LA is one of the many artistes underrated in Nigeria 2020. She has an amazing voice, awesome songwriting skills and lovely sounds but haven't really been given the attention she deserves.

8. Barry Jhay

Oluwakayode "Barry Jhay" Balogun is a Nigerian performing artist, songwriter and entertainer. Barry Jhay is one talented singer whose works has inarguably been underrated by music lovers. He couldn't have missed this list having released adorable materials off his "Barry Back" EP which hasn't really performed well as it should.

7. Zoro

Popular Nigerian singer and rapper, Zoro rose to fame following the success of his "Ogene" single featuring Flavour released in 2016. Ever since then, the Igbo indigenous rapper has struggled to dish out another hit track. His joints "Stainless" and "Oyoko" with Simi and Chidinma respectively, did well to be fair but he has not been able to get his sounds adored and valued by Nigerians.

6. Tems

Temilade "Tems" Openiyi is a Nigerian alternative and R&B singer whose works has been undervalued for a while now. She gained massive attention with her 2019 single "Try Me". Ever since then, she has not been able to replicate same success on her subsequent sounds regardless of how spectacular they are.

5. Johnny Drille

Johnny Drille is the second Mavin records act on this list. The alternative and R&B singer has quite a number of materials out there. Ever since joining Mavin records in 2017, John Ighodaro professionally knwon as Johnny Drille has not gotten the attention he deserves probably because Nigerians do not f*ck with alternative sounds that much.

4. L.A.X

Damilola Afolabi professionally known as L.A.X is a Nigerian rapper, singer and recording artist. He was once a member of Wizkid's Starboy Entertainment record label back in 2013. His hit singles include "Caro" featuring Wizkid and "Runaway" a single he released in 2017. L.A.X should most definitely be a household name by name but that has not been the case for the super talented musician.

3. Sean Tizzle

If you are a fan of Sean Tizzle, you will probably be wondering why an artist who won the Headies award Next Rated category in 2013 should be in this list. Well Sean Tizzle has not been deservingly accepted by the Nigerian music scene. His talent is unappraciated and undervalued. For a singer whose singles has never been less of quality, Sean Tizzle should definitely be bigger than where he is now.

2. Solidstar

Solidstar is powerfully talented. His songs are awesome to say the least. He has worked with Tiwa Savage, 2baba, Patoranking and so many more. Despite giving us so many hit songs in the past including "Wait refix" featuirng Tiwa Savage and Patoranking and "Nwa Baby" featuring 2Baba, Solidstar still struggles in the everly competitive Nigerian music industry.

1. Terri

The one talent that is heavily underrated in Nigeria 2020 is Terri. The Starboy Entertainment artist hasn't had a fair chance in the Nigerian music space as many keep comparing him to his boss Wizkid. Terri's talent is unique, phenomenal and amazing. His recent body of work "Afro Series" got so many Nigerians sleeping on it and others thinking he got the media attention beacuse of Wizzy. This has made Terri the most underrated Nigerian artiste in 2020.
